No, you cannot promote your product in r/web_design. The submit-page text says, "no promotion, blogspam, lists, memes, job postings, or critiques!" and Rule 4 says, "We do not allow any commercial promotion or solicitation." Rule 3 also says, "No self-promotion" and refers you to reddiquette and the Reddit 9:1 rule.

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 3: No self-promotion

"Read and follow reddiquette; no excessive self-promotion. Please refer to the Reddit 9:1 rule when considering posting self promoting materials."

Rule 4: No commercial promotions/solicitations

"We do not allow any commercial promotion or solicitation. Violations can result in a ban."

Rule 9: No Blog Spam

"Blog posts are subject to moderator approval."

Submit-page text

"In short, no promotion, blogspam, lists, memes, job postings, or critiques!"

What gets removed

  • Commercial promotion or solicitation, violations can result in a ban
  • Excessive self-promotion
  • Blogspam, blog posts are subject to moderator approval
  • Posts with unnecessary links in feedback requests are subject to removal

Safer ways to show up

  • Ask questions or engage in discussion that follow the posting guidelines
  • Contribute useful and informative posts instead of promotional ones
  • Use the Beginner Questions thread after checking the FAQ, if your question is basic
  • Request critiques or feedback only in the Feedback Weekend threads
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
