Can you promote your product in r/UI_Design?

No, you cannot promote your product in r/UI_Design. The rules explicitly say, "don't self-promote" and "No freelance, business, agency, OR self-promotion," and the submit page adds, "No URLS or self promotion of any kind," while Structured Rule 2 says, "Posts or articles that serve primarily as self-promotion are not permitted."

The rules that cover promotion

UI Design Submission Policy

"Follow reddiquette, don't self-promote No freelance, business, agency, OR self-promotion. This includes your portfolio, Dribble, Behance, Instagram, Youtube channel, apps, services, software, platforms, blogs and tools."

Submit page

"No URLS or self promotion of any kind. This includes your business, agency, software, app, social media, dribble, etc. Your post will be removed."

Rule 2: No promotion of services/products

"Posts or articles that serve primarily as self-promotion are not permitted. Repeated or excessive promotion may lead to a ban."

Rule 6: Requesting feedback

"No self-promotion in images, titles, or comments."

Quoted from the subreddit's own rules, snapshot from July 2026. Read all 6 rules on Reddit

What gets removed

  • Self-promotional posts, URLs, and promotion of your business, agency, software, app, social media, portfolio, or tools
  • Posts or articles that serve primarily as self-promotion
  • Off-topic and lazy link posts, including external resources, YT videos, Medium blogs, and similar content posts
  • Using multiple accounts to bypass the rules, this will get you banned

Safer ways to show up

  • Share your UI work for feedback, with project overview, tools used, intended audience, and the kind of feedback you want
  • Keep self-promotion out of images, titles, and comments when requesting feedback
  • Give constructive, UI-focused feedback to other people’s work
  • Use the wiki or pinned monthly megathread for getting started, portfolios, jobs, careers, courses, and studying topics
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
