Can you promote your product in r/SaaS?

You can only mention your product in r/SaaS under narrow, value-first conditions. The rules say to "avoid non-productive self-promotion," "Please don’t mention your SaaS/blog/company unless it’s relevant and actually helpful," and that promotion is allowed only occasionally under "No Vendor Spam," with a max 1 mention every 60 days plus required affiliation disclosure.

The rules that cover promotion

Submission Guidelines

"Follow the Reddit site-wide rules and please treat others with respect, stay on-topic, and avoid non-productive self-promotion. No spam."

No Direct Sales Or Non-Productive Self-Promotion

"Please don’t mention your SaaS/blog/company unless it’s relevant and actually helpful for someone reading. Overdoing it results in a ban."

No Vendor Spam

"Promotion is allowed occasionally, but accounts focused solely on it will be removed. Max 1 mention every 60 days."

Blog Posts Rules

"You may submit your blog post as long as the main ideas are in the Reddit post... The only way a link is allowed is at the end of the post ("Originally posted here")."

Quoted from the subreddit's own rules, snapshot from July 2026. Read all 11 rules on Reddit

What gets removed

  • Non-productive self-promotion, spam, and unsolicited direct sales
  • Promotion-heavy accounts, mentions over the 1 per 60 days limit, or missing affiliation disclosure
  • Blog posts that do not put the main ideas in the Reddit post, or links used outside the allowed end-of-post format
  • Selling services, soliciting clients, lead gen posts, shortened or indirect links

Safer ways to show up

  • Answer questions and share knowledge without mentioning your product unless it is relevant and actually helpful
  • If you mention your product, do it only occasionally, disclose your affiliation, and add real context and value
  • For blog content, put the main ideas in the Reddit post and place any link at the end as "Originally posted here"
  • Keep posts tightly focused on SaaS and business topics that help readers
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
