Can you promote your product in r/PPC?

You should not promote your product in r/PPC as a standalone thread. The rules explicitly target promotional-style posts under Rule 1: Spam and Rule 3: Low Quality Post, including "posting a thread of services or tools by agencies, freelancers, contractors... etc." and they also ban app or tool feedback and validation posts under Rule 9.

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 1: Spam

"This includes but is not limited to posting a thread of services or tools by agencies, freelancers, contractors... etc."

Rule 1: Spam

"Don't use URL shorteners in your posts and don't Astroturf!"

Rule 3: Low Quality Post

"This includes but is not limited to posting a thread of services or tools by agencies, freelancers, contractors...ect."

Rule 3: Low Quality Post

"Also, tools/apps trying to survey the community are not allowed."

What gets removed

  • Threads promoting services or tools by agencies, freelancers, or contractors
  • Spam, including astroturfing
  • Tools or apps trying to survey the community
  • Dev/founder research, beta testing, tool validation, or feedback-seeking posts about apps, tools, software ideas, and AI

Safer ways to show up

  • Join discussions about PPC news and information without making a promotional thread
  • Answer questions helpfully and keep posts polite and high quality
  • If you want to run an AMA, get mod approval first
  • Do not use URL shorteners, astroturf, or post tool or service threads
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
