Can you promote your product in r/ObsidianMD?
Promotion is heavily restricted. Rule 3 says, "Don’t shill" and adds, "If you are just here to advertise your product, don’t." Rule 4 also says, "If your first and only post is to promote your project (vibe-coded or otherwise), you will be immediately banned," so you should not use this subreddit mainly as an advertising channel.

What gets removed
- AI-generated content, Rule 4 says it will be removed
- Your account can be immediately banned if your first and only post is to promote your project
- Posts that are just advertising your product are not allowed under Rule 3
- Memes posted here instead of r/ObsidianMDMemes are not allowed under Rule 2
Safer ways to show up
- Participate beyond promotion, do not be here just to advertise your product
- Share posts that are useful to Obsidian users, while following Rule 1: Be nice to everyone
- If your post is about using AI with Obsidian, use the "ai" flair
- Do not post memes here, use r/ObsidianMDMemes instead
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads.
