Can you promote your product in r/juststart?

No, you cannot promote your product in r/juststart. Rule 3, "Self-Promotion," says, "No promoting your product or service," and adds that this includes "mastermind groups" and that discussion should stay in the subreddit so everyone can learn. If you include a link, Rule 2 also requires it to be in a text post with at least 200 characters, but that does not override the ban on self-promotion.

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 3: Self-Promotion

"No promoting your product or service. This includes "mastermind groups - Keep the discussion here so everyone can learn."

Rule 2: Text Posts

"Text posts are active to promote discussion. Any link needs to be accompanied by at least 200 characters."

Rule 10: AMA's

"All AMA's need to be approved by mods before appearing in r/juststart/."

Quoted from the subreddit's own rules, snapshot from July 2026. Read all 10 rules on Reddit

What gets removed

  • Posts promoting your product or service, including mastermind groups
  • Link posts that are not accompanied by at least 200 characters
  • Broad beginner questions or posts answerable by a simple Google search, you will likely be banned
  • Shitposts, including examples like "Critique my website" and "Validate my niche"

Safer ways to show up

  • Share useful experience or insights that contribute to discussion, without promoting a product or service
  • Make text posts that provide enough detail for meaningful discussion
  • Use links only when they are accompanied by at least 200 characters of discussion
  • If you want to do an AMA, get mod approval first
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
