Can you promote your product in r/indiehackers?
Yes, but only under specific limits. Rule 1, "Self Promotion," says, "Users can self promote their product 1 time using the Self Promotion flair" and adds that "The purpose is for feedback and critique not advertisement."

What gets removed
- Self-promo posts that are used as advertisement instead of feedback and critique
- Posts containing MRR info without proof, "no proof, no post"
- Some "what you build" posts if they are done to karma farm
Safer ways to show up
- If you promote your product, do it one time and use the Self Promotion flair
- Frame your post around getting feedback and critique, not advertising
- If you post MRR information, include proof
- Avoid "what you build" posts that look like karma farming
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads.
