community rules

Can you promote your product in r/GetMoreViewsYT?

You can promote your channel content, but only under clear conditions. The sidebar says, "Rule 1: No Link Dumping" and adds that you can promote your channel in community growth threads "provided you support other members of the community," and it also says, "It is required that you view other videos if you post your own."

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 1: No Link Dumping

"Introduce yourself in the community growth threads, & you can promote your channel there provided you support other members of the community."

Rule 2: One submission per day per channel

"For each video that you share in this subreddit, we ask that you offer feedback/subscribe to one person if you enjoy their content."

Rule 3: Engage with the community

"Your feedback should never include a link to your own content."

Rule 3

"Do not spam."

Quoted from the subreddit's own rules, snapshot from July 2026. Read all 5 rules on Reddit

What gets removed

  • Link dumping and spam
  • More than one submission per day per channel
  • Feedback comments that include a link to your own content
  • Paid services, sexually explicit content, hateful or harassing content, and non-SFW links

Safer ways to show up

  • Use the community growth threads to introduce yourself and promote your channel there
  • Watch other members' videos and give honest feedback before or when posting your own
  • Keep it to one submission per day per channel
  • When giving feedback, do not include a link to your own content
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
