Can you promote your product in r/FacebookAds?

You generally cannot promote your product in r/FacebookAds. Rule 1, "No Promotional Posts," says the majority of links to courses, services, or other promotional content are not allowed, and that "just posting a link to your service IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED." Some promotional content may be allowed only if you bring "a TON OF VALUE to the community," and the rule says to ask the moderators for approval if you are unsure.

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 1: No Promotional Posts

"Majority of links to courses, services, or any other promotional content are NOT ALLOWED."

What gets removed

  • Promotional content without providing value
  • Posts that are just a link to your service
  • Hiring posts made outside the weekly job board thread
  • Off-topic posts not related to advertising on Meta

Safer ways to show up

  • Share advice or insights that bring a ton of value to the community
  • Ask the moderator team for approval before posting if your content might be promotional
  • Keep your posts focused on advertising on Meta, Facebook ads and Instagram ads
  • If you are hiring, use the weekly job board thread posted every Monday
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
