Can you promote your product in r/ArtificialInteligence?

You cannot use r/ArtificialInteligence as a normal marketing channel. Rule 3, "No Spam · Builders Welcome with Substance," allows builder posts only when they have standalone educational or technical value, and says posts that function primarily as a marketing funnel will be deleted. It also says users using the subreddit for lead generation, waitlists, or repetitive self-promotion will be permanently banned.

The rules that cover promotion

Rule 3: No Spam · Builders Welcome with Substance

"Posts must provide standalone educational or technical value that exists independently of any linked project."

Rule 3: No Spam · Builders Welcome with Substance

"If a post functions primarily as a marketing funnel, or loses its utility when the outbound link is removed, it will be deleted."

Rule 3: No Spam · Builders Welcome with Substance

"Users attempting to use the subreddit for lead generation, waitlists, or repetitive self-promotion will be permanently banned."

Rule 2: High-Signal Content Only

"Every post should teach something, share something new, or spark substantive discussion."

Quoted from the subreddit's own rules, snapshot from July 2026. Read all 8 rules on Reddit

What gets removed

  • Posts that function primarily as a marketing funnel
  • Posts that lose their utility when the outbound link is removed
  • Low-signal posts that do not teach something, share something new, or spark substantive discussion
  • Link posts without the required news submission statement, when Rule 6 applies

Safer ways to show up

  • Share a build only if the post itself has standalone educational or technical value
  • Use the Project / Build or New Model / Tool flair when it fits, and flair before or immediately after posting
  • If you post news or an external link, add a top-level comment within 30 minutes with a 2 to 3 sentence summary and why it matters
  • Focus your post on teaching something, sharing something new, or creating substantive discussion, not on driving leads or waitlists
Whatever the written rules say, the pattern that gets promo removed everywhere is the same: batches of similar comments, reused wording, and necro-posting on old threads. A promotional mention only has value if it survives, so pace matters more than volume. We measured this the expensive way: 70% of bought pool comments were removed within two weeks.
